Setting up rates is one of the most important features of any reservation system. Digital Rez software is utilized in many different business types with a wide range of rate structures, time periods and business rules including charging by room, cabin and length etc

To accommodate this varied user base we have a very robust rate setup structure in our windows product, which has been enhanced in the new hosted Software as a Service model. See how to ROS2006 and the new SaaS system setup









To setup rates so ROS2006™ can charge the correct price rate for a specific rental or product, use the appropriate rates setup forms. There are five different rates setup forms:

Rate Setup Form Application
Base Rates Basic rental rates for all units are set up on the this form.
Extra Occupant  Rates All additional charge rates for any extra people, pets, etc. guests bring with them are entered on this form.
Meter  Rates This form is for setting up Regular Meter rates only.
Product Rates All rates for products and services are set up on this form.
Tax Rates All tax rates are entered on this form.

Access the Rates Setup forms

Access Method
Menu : From the Main Menu, select Setup – Rates. Use the View Menu to access the specific Rates forms.
Custom Toolbar : Click the button.
Hot Key: Press F2 on the keyboard.
Product & Services Setup form: After setting up a new product, configure the rate for it by clicking the button.

Note: If you do not configure a rate for a product it does not display in the Products drop-down in the Invoice Sales or Additional Charges forms.
Unit Type Setup form: When you are configuring Unit Types, click to set up the rates for the new unit type.

Enter the Manager’s Password, if necessary, to continue.

The Rates form will appear. The Base Rates view will be the default view:

Refer to the following table for a description of Rates Setup form fields:

Field Description
Business : If you are managing more than one business with ROS2006™, click the button in the Business: field to select the business from the list that you are configuring rates for.
Location : Set up rates for each location, whether different or not, by clicking the button in the Location: field and selecting the relevant location from this drop-down list.
Click this button to open a calendar to enter a new rate starting on this date.
Rate Entry grid: The spreadsheet displayed on the rate setup interface is much like the reservation grid . Match up the dates across the top with the corresponding rate groups and time periods down the left hand side. The rate grid, however, does not display all dates. You must add relevant dates to the grid, usually season start dates when rates change.See Rate Groups Setup.See Time Periods Setup.
